Sorare, a blockchain-based football game, announced yesterday that its famous Player of the Year cards will release soon. This Ethereum-based game combines soccer, fantasy sports, and non-fungible tokens into an interactive collectable experience.
How does the Sorare platform work?
Basically, each of the Sorare cards in your collection is an NFT. The NFTs are available in four different rarities (Limited, Rare, Super Rare, and Unique).
So, to win crypto-cash prizes every week, you can buy, sell, trade, scout, and manage a team of officially licensed digital player cards on the gaming platform.
Therefore, a limited number of playing cards are available in the game. Thanks to the blockchain, each card owns a unique identity. Simply put, once you have a card in your collection, you own it forever!
Each year, the gaming platform auctions 50 Player of the Year cards. Usually, these cards sell through an auction on their official website. There’s a maximum of one player per club. Currently, there are 30 soccer clubs represented on the platform.
Like the previous year, we also can expect giveaways of 2-3 cards on Twitter soon.
How well-known is this fantasy football game?
Sorare’s NFT collection was released in September 2021. The hot-gaming platform had previously raised $688 million in a Series B round.
Furthermore, the platform has attracted the participation of all 20 of LaLiga’s top football clubs.
Clearly, digital collectables are going to sell for hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. In terms of weekly revenue, Sorare is one of the top performers.
