The long-awaited Splinterlands Chaos Legion pack general sale was a huge success. Although the sale started just yesterday, players have already purchased over 40% of the 15 million NFT packs available.
It’s an outstanding achievement, even for the most popular NFT-powered game worldwide. The news comes shortly after the Chaos Legion pre-sale, which was equally successful.
The Splinterlands Chaos Legion pack sale airdrop system
It’s been an amazing week for Splinterlands, as its general sale phase has officially begun on January 18th. Players have been able to purchase the latest Chaos Legion NFT packs consisting of five cards per pack. The packs have been available via Credits, which players could buy in exchange for the Splinterlands native tokens, $SPS, and $DEC.
The team also organized an innovative airdrop system so that all users would get a fair chance to get their own collectibles. Basically, pre-sale users received 4K Credits as vouchers delivered as part of the daily airdrop that is still ongoing. These mechanics prevented players from rushing in to buy multiple packs, thus ensuring fair distribution.
As a result, pre-sale buyers became eligible for rare air dropped cards. Accordingly, one of the cards in each pack is a rare one (or higher). What’s more, some cards can become gold foil versions, therefore increasing their value and level.
A record-breaking general pack sale
As soon as the Splinterlands Chaos Legion pack sale started, collectors went into a frenzy. In less than 24 hours, over 6 million packs were already sold – over 40% of the 15 million packs available.
Notably, the team revealed a brand new card for every million packs sold during the general sale. These new cards have been airdropped to pack purchasers, which means that all buyers have received six new cards within 24 hours.
Considering that Splinterlands has become the most popular NFT-powered play-to-earn game, the Chaos Legion packs will only become increasingly valuable.
