The Sandbox is partnering with AIMC, a global entertainment IP company, to bring ‘Extraordinary Woo Young Woo’, the most beloved K-drama in 2022 to the metaverse.

‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ is a South Korean drama series and one of the most-watched non-English shows on Netflix. This popular show is the life story of Woo Young Woo, a witty, charming and high-functioning female rookie attorney on the autism spectrum. In the show, Wu places a fixation on the whale and the animals act as a visual cue for the character.

AIMC, a subsidiary of Korean drama production firm Astory, has launched a NFT project named ‘Extraordinary Whale Club’ to raise awareness about autism. Also, they are broadening their portfolio of IP-focused businesses, including actor management, webtoon production, and commerce.

Through this partnership, The Sandbox and AIMC will create locations from the show, such as the courtroom, Hanbada law firm office, and Woo Young Woo kimbap restaurant in the exclusive themed space ‘K-verse (Korea Universe)’ specializing in K-content in The Sandbox metaverse. Players can enjoy the beautiful floating whale and play games in this unique venue. In addition, The Sandbox will collaborate with AIMC on various projects, such as creating NFTs that utilize Astory’s TV shows and entertainment IPs.
