Blockchain-based Fantasy MMORPG Mirandus by Gala Games is on the move to champion the concept of true player ownership. The community is buzzing because the game will have a playtest this month and players can earn the in-game token Materium!
Mirandus is part of Gala Games’ growing gaming ecosystem. While Town Star is the only game in their portfolio that is already live, they have an upcoming lineup of exciting releases. Aside from Mirandus, there’s Fortified, a Tower Defense game and Echoes of Empire, a 4x space strategy game.
Mirandus: Gameplay and How it Plans to Standout
Players can venture into the game’s world from a first-person perspective. According to the gaming studio, this will increase immersion and add an extra dimension to the concept of digital ownership. Studio Director Michael McCarthy explained that the goal is to mimic a “real adventure simulator.”
The gameplay promotes “true player ownership.” This means that players and contributors own every item in the game. The scope includes weapons, tents, shops and even entire cities. Moreover, their decisions will affect the game and their actions will create an environment that was built by the players themselves. In the same vein, they will also create economies, governance, and political alliances.
There will be a thriving in-game economy, and everybody has their part of the play. To illustrate, adventurers will need food, armor repairs and some potions before going on their next adventure. The blacksmith will need wood from the woodcutter to make a hilt. Meanwhile, the butcher would need meat from the farmer. There are many production lines and players can enjoy being a farmer, an adventurer, a trader or perhaps a bard.
In the game, owning land means making money. Having a keep or some other base close to a dungeon entrance will pave the way for trading opportunities. Players can buy land tiles with specific functionalities and drop these anywhere in the game world. Other players could open a shop in that village and pay rent to the mayor. All ownership over digital assets inside Mirandus is stored on the Gala blockchain.
Reception So Far
Interest in Mirandus has been increasing since Gala Games partnered with Polyient Games. The game also shattered records and after selling its first citadel for $800, ooo. When Mirandus launches, there will be five citadels. These give the owner the right to create and lead their own faction, charge taxes on trade and so on.
In Mirandus, players own deeds for certain buildings. In total, players can buy 1625 deeds. The already sold-out homesteads are the cheapest ones for $100.
Currently, the cheapest settlements players can acquire are the Outpost and the Farming Hamlet. The deeds to these settlements cost 0.497 ETH or approximately 500 dollars. In addition, Potion Shops sold out in just four minutes.
Mirandus VOX NFT Drop
Today, December 6, Mirandus is dropping a total of 8,888 unique Mirandus VOX characters. The highly anticipated sale will happen in the Gala Games Store so users can avoid gas wars. These Vox characters represent the Exemplar heroes from Mirandus. The twist here is users who own both the Vox and the Exemplar from the same type will unlock a boost inside Mirandus.
In addition, the Mirandus VOX NFT avatars will have utility in Town Star Play-to-Earn Season 2. Placing them inside their farm will make players eligible for extra daily TOWN token rewards. However, the earnings will be lower than the earnings from the Town Star Vox characters.
