Metroverse: a new play-to-earn experience

This year, the NFT market has exploded in popularity, some digital assets being sold for millions of dollars. PFP (Profile Picture) style collections like CryptoPunks or BAYC are still best-sellers.

However, collectors are now more drawn than ever towards on-chain gaming projects. Such community-driven initiatives create a brand new user experience all enhanced by the exciting play-to-earn mechanics.

Metroverse is a strategy game involving NFT collecting, trading, and staking city blocks. The Ethereum-based game combines three of the fastest-growing niches of the moment: DeFi, NFT, and gaming. In fact, this unique blend of tech innovations comes from two 18-year-old gaming enthusiasts. As soon as they pitched the idea to a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, they created  Metroverse and the rest is history.

In terms of design, Metroverse is heavily influenced by Simcity. Their designers have created a truly unique theme  with a fun, edgy touch. The color scheme is equally fun and relaxing, reminding you of the city’s nightlife.

The game mechanics explained

The city blocks are available as ERC-721 NFTs. Each city block is unique with commercial, residential, and industrial areas. What’s more, the buildings contained within create different rarities for the city blocks.

Now, players must acquire and stake their blocks to raise their own city’s economy – and that’s where the $MET token steps in. $MET is the native utility token of Metroverse, which players can get by staking city blocks.

Notably, the more city blocks you combine, the more $MET tokens you’ll get, thanks to the game’s multiplier effect. This system means that every block can provide value to its owner, regardless of its unique traits and rarity level.

Project roadmap

Although Metroverse will launch in January 2022, the project has already grown impressively. By December 6th, a whopping 2.8k wallets had been verified and connected to the official website. Surprisingly, the Discord community also experienced massive organic growth, surpassing 8,000 members, and 7,000 Twitter followers in the first two weeks.

In January 2022, the team will release 10,000 impressive city block NFTs. Reportedly, the price of a city block will be revealed soon.

Meanwhile, the Metroverse team is working tirelessly for the final details of the gameplay, as well as the minting process. Moreover, the community is playing an active role by offering constant feedback to the game’s owners.

If you’re ready to build the most powerful city on the Metroverse, make sure to follow the project on Twitter. For more exclusive updates, giveaways, and launches, join their Discord channel and check out the official website too!
