What’s Dark Country?

Dark Country is basically a collectible trading, play-to-earn game on the WAX blockchain, set in the Wild West. Classic collectible card games (CCGs) such as Magic: the Gathering inspired the game. It features a range of characters, including rangers, cowboys, zombies, ghosts, and demons.

Dark Country is currently in an alpha phase; therefore, all cards are currently available to all players. Players can already play to earn via regular tournaments and by staking Hero cards on the official website. Undoubtedly, the Dark Country roadmap will expand the game’s universe to compete with the other play-to-earn games out there.

The game’s 2022 roadmap

February 2022: Dark Country launches land gameplay, play-to-earn mechanics, and weekly tournaments. Unfortunately, players will no longer have access to all the cards, but will instead get a basic deck.

March 2022: Players and landowners can earn Dark Country’s play-to-earn token: Shadow Dimes. Furthermore, this month sees the introduction of alliances for landholders. Landowners can also begin constructing buildings on their land.

April 2022: Dark Country launches land leasing; which allows players to manage landowners’ land as well as a quest system with rewards.

May 2022: Card rentals and heroes are in the cards for this month. Dark Country, however, has not yet defined how heroes will be used.

June 2022: Alliance PvPs, battles for Shrine, and map control will be available in June. Landowners can join forces to control Shrines, and alliances can recruit players to compete against rival alliances.

July 2022: Dark Country rolls out item crafting and rogue-like adventure campaigns.

The current Dark country roadmap ends in July. One thing is for sure – considering the number of new features Dark Country is introducing, it will be a very exciting few months!
