Less than 2 years ago, deadmau5 and Smearballs set out on a mission — to make the most interoperable asset in the metaverse. On March 10th they continue to accomplish this by implementing a brand new bridge to The Sandbox ecosystem.
But first let’s talk about head5.
The head5 collection is a range of 5,555 generative avatars created by deadmau5 and legendary director, animator, and visual artist Smearballs. Nick denBoer, who is Smearballs, is to thank for many of deadmau5’s insane tour visuals featuring dancing bug-eyed farm animals and the many characters in the music videos for “Monophobia,” “Pomegranate” and “Drama Free.”
This project is an extension of those worlds and characters, where collectors will not only own an NFT but will benefit from additional token utility and rewards throughout the mau5verse. The collection provides deadmau5’s most passionate fans and collectors entry into the next epoch of the mau5verse community.

Interoperability and what it means
Interoperability refers to the ability of an asset to move freely between different platforms and ecosystems. To own a head5 is to own true digital identity.
head5 is integrated in over 600 digital and metaverse spaces. This means that wherever you and your NFT go, your digital identity will be there ready for you. head5 is built on Polygon, an Ethereum L2, which is the most widely adopted blockchain in the web3 ecosystem. This means that the NFTs can be bought, sold, and traded on a variety of different marketplaces and platforms, giving holders maximum flexibility and liquidity.
head5 originally launched with game-ready avatars available thanks to Ready Player Me. This means that if you own a head5 all you need to do is connect the wallet that holds your head5 token to any ready player me compatible metaverse, and voila — your avatar in game (or metaverse space) will be your corresponding head5.

Now, the project comes to its next major milestone with project founder deadmau5’ leading metaverse partner, The Sandbox.
What does this mean for head5? Time to enter the world of voxelated fun and adventure. Starting March 10th at 2pm UTC, head5 hodlers will be able to enter The Sandbox metaverse with their head5 token and be able to equip their avatar with the voxelated version of their head5.
