ERM LABS brings real-life escape room games into the metaverse in partnership with The Sandbox

Taking real-life adventures to a new dimension, quite literally! ERM LABS specializes in expanding IRL entertainment and adventure experiences by transforming game and architectural designs into the metaverse. In partnership with The Sandbox, their initial project aims at providing global partners of real-life escape rooms unrestricted access to a digital openworld, where fun has no restrictions, no limitations.

The Sandbox is partnering with ERM LABS, a web3.0 accelerator platform that focuses on providing disruptive solutions to the real-life entertainment industry. This partnership is a significant milestone for ERM LABS, as it represents their official foray into the metaverse.

This partnership centers around creating global real-life escape room intellectual properties (IPs) within The Sandbox’s 12 x 12 plot of LAND called “Escape Room Metaverse (ERM),” which will serve as a gaming virtual hub for the most immersive and award-winning escape room experiences. Through the partnership, multiple gaming studios will collaborate to produce experiences for the ERM community within The Sandbox by developing digital infrastructure, game puzzles, game logic, architectural designs, and digital products. The partnership will enable offline escape room players to continue their gameplay online and experience a virtual escape room firsthand.

One of the most frequently asked questions about the metaverse is how it connects people in real life and what its use cases are. During ERM LABS first activation in Australia in partnership with MVcon and Metaverse Sydney, Wing Wu, the Founder of ERM LABS offered a unique response:

“The metaverse is a transition towards a more digitally immersive and interconnected existence, where the boundaries between physical and digital realities are blurred.”

This idea of interconnection between real-life and digital is a driving force for ERM LABS, as they begin to offer their disruptive web3.0 and metaverse solutions to all escape room partners, enabling them to convert their physical designs and creations into a digital scalable product. ERM LABS is a pioneer to reshape the future of Escape Rooms 3.0 focusing on the recognition of escape room IP ownership, by building an on-chain offline-to-online (O2O) integrated and creator-driven experience on the metaverse. Wing stated “As the largest owner of escape room IPs on the metaverse, we are proud to bring puzzle and game enthusiasts closer to their favorite global escape room gameplay, connecting them to an exciting metaverse experience.”

The Wonder World (TWW) Collection

TWW Collection is an extended creative game content based on the real-life escape rooms in North America, exploring the historical, mythical worlds on the metaverse. The first wonder Atlantis — The Lost Kingdom is a single-player experience developed by Blockdork Studio using The Sandbox Game Maker 0.8. The escape room game mechanics utilized the RNG system to ensure alternative endings, as well as integrated with key features including new lighting, visual and sound effects to deliver an extraordinary storyline and challenging puzzle game experience for the players!
